Impressive

I think it is a safe design but exterior I think the Fusion/Mondeo looks more attractive. Though that is subjective.
Interior wise, well VAG do some really quality interiors and I have to say the Passat does keep that up. It does look better than the Mondeo but not by a lot.

Really nice looking car IMO.
Looking through the pictures though - I like physical gauges over the digital ones.

The exterior is a snoozefest like most of VW's cars. It's not ugly just ultra conservative. The same goes for the interiorstyling, not ugly, just boring.

My garage tally is currently Ford 2, VAG(VW) 1, Mazda 1
I can see the balance swaying to the VAG group going forward I like the looks of that a lot. .

I'm actually waiting for the latest MQB platformed Skoda Octavia Scout to be released in Australia. It's time to downsize a bit but I have this thing for AWD and higher ride heights as can be seen from the 2 Fords in my sig.

The Superb is a lovely car though, just hindered a little by dubious VAG technology. A Passat I see as raw unreliable VAG technology without the build quality and space of the Superb. Why would you buy a Passat? |

I will give it a miss, Golf's are mostly cool, Passat's (incl B8) are generally uncool.

Which Mondeo? The one that's been around 2007 or the one that has not even been released yet or had full specifications confirmed?
I agree the new Passat looks very nice, but somewhat conservative like the rest of the VW range.

Conservative is good.
I like it. It's a very clever evolution of the previous model - still looks like a VW but very clean and modern. VW's designers ought to be applauded for their efforts with the Golf and now the Passat.

Really like the Passats.
One of a few wagons made by any manufacturer that i would strongly consider owning. |
