In terms of what now rules the segment, the baton has been passed on to the RAV4, and the desirability weighted in favour of the hybrid.

It's a bit smaller, has the desired tech and remote opening boot in some, it's kind of in the price point of where the Territory was (saw 57K advertised onroad for a mid spec XSE so that's late Titanium money!). It is said to be a good handler by the reviewers, and has a (kind of) AWD option - check Driving Sports TV testing it out, the rear has an electric motor and it has it's moments... Sales are hindered by a lack of supply so it's hard to get (treat em mean and keep em keen). It does sub 5L/100km which addresses the main Territory gripe.
