Back in 2003ish I'd been working a couple of years and had a reasonable 1st car daily and some cash in the bank, started looking at cars, XY GT Replicas and V8 Torana Replicas all in the 7k range, Dads only advice was get whatever you want as long as it is legitimate (ie not replica), ended up with my unrestored Valiant Pacer Hardtop and still driving it these days with my son, turned out to be decent advice.
