I'd love to find a CNG set up now, setting up a hydrogen to synthetic methane plant might be a tad tricky in the suburban back yard, but at least there would be methane (natural gas) available to be piped into the house/yard. The compressor isn't all that expensive these days and could be run from solar/battery .... but a hybrid electric drive upgrade combined with the original engine would still be easier to fit and set up .....
Put the new NiMh traction battery in my '06 silver Prius during the week, the orange taxi Prius has too many issues that need attention at the moment .... instant return to 5 ltr/100km while still being driven hard has an amazing effect on the smile factor ;)
