I worked with an old bloke who bought a gold xr gt in the late 70s for a few hundred bucks and binned it. So factory 289 manual but back then they were nothing. So by binned i mean ditched in a field not smashed. It apparently had cooling issues. He did but didnt regret it. Yes the prices these days for a nice one says yes, but he says the thing was in poor shape in the late 70s so wouldnt be a survivor.
Xr gt's are rare compared to a 65 mustang. The mustang is much more identifiable i think then an old falcon, but im very much a falcon bloke. 4 doors is more then 2. So im split on this one.
